[ My founding story ]

For over 25 years, I advised C-level executives worldwide and led global teams, including as a General Manager and Executive Committee member at Gartner. I helped scale multi-hundred-million-dollar businesses at CEB and Talent Neuron.  At Gartner, I co-authored The Connector Manager, shaping how organizations think about manager development.

But I kept seeing the same problem.  A gap between what managers are being taught and what their work actually demands. Managers consistently struggled when plans changed, feedback to their team got hard, or stakeholders pushed back.

That realization changed my work and started focusing on the key conversations that make managers multiply their impact without multiplying their efforts.

This shift became the foundation of my latest book, Standout: The Six Conversations Every Ambitious Manager Needs to Master, and the Standout Manager training and coaching — real-world tactical tools and research-backed strategies designed to help leaders shrink ambiguity, unlock team performance, and accelerate their careers.
